update on melissa

Hello, loyal blog followers. Sharon, the mom, here again. Just got home from visiting Melissa at the hospital. I took all your comments with me and she was so happy that so many people were thinking of her. She seems a little better today. We're thankful she is getting the help she needs, but the insurance company is fighting the dr. saying she does not need inpatient care...that's our health system for you. Hopefully they will work out their differences in the best way for Melissa!
On a more mystical note, while coming in from the car I leaned over to get my cell phone and what should be balanced on top of a pair of mittens but my wedding ring, which has been missing for 2 years! I think Brian may be helping with this ordeal after all! I will keep you all posted! Sharon Blake

Wow! That is quite a coincidence. Here's hoping that Mel continues to improve and that the insurance company comes to its senses.

Love to all of you -

I'm so glad Melissa is getting the helps she needs. I know what a pain in the butt insurance companies can be when it comes to mental health services. I would suggest finding out who her case manager is within her insurance company and appealing to them directly. You probably have already thought of this, but I thought I'd suggest it anyway.

I'm sending both you and Melissa positive thoughts. I hope she gets through this quickly.

Hi Melissa's mom, I'm not sure if Melissa is reading comments or checking email. But I'd love her to know that I'm thinking of her and my thoughts are with her during this struggle with depression. I know first hand how hard it can be and the long struggle to get well. I have just read all the posts and you are so brave to talk about what you are going through. your sharing this has helped me too.

Gosh, I hope Melissa feels better soon. She's such a beautiful, sweet, funny, and caring person-and one of my very favorite bloggers. Please send my love to her.

Side note: I'm as positive as can be that your dear husband is watching over you and your girls. And he's probably very happy to know Melissa has a wonderful mother taking care of her.

James and I are fighting different insurance companies just to get me insurance at all...they all seem to know what's best for me but they have yet to meet me or talk to any of my doctors...go figure. Anyways James and I are keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers and hope that you get all the care that you need and everything works out with your insurance company.

Congratulations on finding your wedding ring...I would be lost without mine!!
