Let's talk glasses!

I'm a glasses gal, friends, as you can tell by these photos. I got my first pair when I was young (maybe around 2 years old...), and I've had them ever since. In fact, I just got a new pair a few months ago. I've always loved huge, dorky glasses that look like they're straight out of the '80s. Here are a few more spectacular specs (try saying that 10 times fast!) I've got my eyes on (pun intended...)
1970s librarian glasses.
'80s vintage eyeglasses.
And, I've never even thought about getting contacts. Is that weird? Glasses just always seemed to, well, for lack of a better word...fit!

So, tell me, friends: Do you sport specs? What kind do you have? How long have you worn them? Or do you prefer contacts? I'd love to hear! xoxo

I've always been jealous of people that you can't really even tell are wearing glasses... like they just look so natural on them. I'm not one of those people. Then again, my glasses are super thick black plastic librarian style glasses and I'm super pale with light blonde hair... no wonder I look ridiculous in my glasses!

I definitely prefer contacts. . . so much easier to be active! I only wear my glasses before I go to bed.

I'm a glasses person, too. I've tried contacts and they just don't work for me. They are not comfortable and I'm no good at even putting them in my eye.

Also, that first photo of you in your first pair of glasses is adorable! I love kids/toddlers in glasses and always take a gander at the children's section every time I visit the optometrist.

Aww 2 year old you was adorable! I have a cousin who has cataracts the poor little thing. She wears the cutest blue plastic glasses and her parents started wearing them too so she'd be more comfortable.

I love my contacts but my eyes never feel as good as they do when I'm wearing my glasses.

I got my first pair when I was 18 months old! I have a few pairs right now, but my favorite ones, I got from Walmart for so cheap! I can't wear contacts, because I have an abnormal fear of things touching my eyeballs.. but I do love wearing my glasses, so it's ok. :]

I know just how Hollie feels. No contacts for me, either.

I need glasses in the worst way but have been procrastinating in going through with the exam, etc. I love the big horn-rimmed nerdy glasses!!! And I have a secret thing for men with glasses - something about them is just sexy!

As far as contacts go - I have no desire to put something weird on my eyeball... ick.

I've worn glasses since I was about 8. I did try contacts out for a few months but I was kind of always too lazy to deal with the aggravation of putting them in in the morning so I gave them up.

I am unabashedly a glasses girl! Years ago I wore contacts almost all the time, and thought that my glasses should be reserved for Melissa, have you given Warby Parker frames a look? I know a few people that have got great, cute "geek" glasses from them. The frames/specs are inexpensive and apparently they send you several pairs to try at home before you're actually charged.
The only reason I didn't try them myself is because my face is quite particular with frames - I'm way wide across the temples - and I wanted frames with more color than what WP currently offers.
Also, I really found this post (from Angie of YouLookFab) helpful as far as tips for purchasing flattering frames - and I swear I'm not just saying that because I was one of the featured photos. Due to a few changes in jobs/insurance providers I've been fortunate to be able to stock up on a few different glasses frames in the past few years, and found Angie's tips (as a spectacle-wearing fashion stylist) incredibly helpful.

i do both, but have kind of been shopping around some of the online sites for a bold new dorky look for when i do have to wear my glasses. for example, this week, some eye pain is making it a little difficult to wear contacts…the contacts aren't uncomfortable, i really just don't want to mess something up accidentally…i guess that is the advantage of wearing glasses all the time.

now that i'm not in school i may throw the idea of contacts out the door…i had contacts because i was one of those kids that whilst in phys. ed. every ball was attracted to my head…and only on the days when i had to be wearing my glasses.

I used to have glasses and contacts, until I decided to have an lazer operation. I made this decision as glasses were not good at winter time while horse riding and I got bad allergies with contacts. Now, after 4 years without glasses, I miss those so much! I am even thinking of getting a pair without any corrections. Isn't that crazy? :)

I was always envious of people with glasses.. and for almost half a year ive had my own glasses.. my first was plain black rectangular glasses.. i decided to have white frames now.. its more unusual and cute.. makes me look like a nerdy nerd.. LOL.. i like them.. it avoids others to see me directly.. its too much of a risk.. having my eyes bare.. :/ :) ^_^

love your blog.. :) <3

I love your glasses! They're cute on you! I have an eye problem too. My vision gets blurred sometimes, and I've been meaning to wear a pair. I have yet to consult an eye doctor, though.

I remember my sister getting her first glasses at the age of 10. Although she rarely wear it nowadays. That aside, your glasses looks really great.
