When I was little, Cabbage Patch Dolls and Popples were some of my best friends. As a child of the '80s, it was practically a requirement, really. Did I ever tell you about Emma, my favorite Cabbage Patch Doll (above)? One time during surgery, my doctor put casts on her legs, and she's still got them to this day!And speaking of stuffed animals, I discovered the new shop Walnut Animal Society over the weekend. Owner Lauren Bradshaw creates the most adorable handmade stuffed animals. Get ready for some cuteness...
Henry the Fox
Eleanor the Bear
Chester the Raccoon
Ruthie the DeerAren't they adorable? I love how they each have names. Which one is your favorite? What sorts of stuffed animals did you have when you were younger? Did you take them everywhere with you? What were their names? I'd love to hear! xoxo
P.S. More fun things from childhood, including children's books, an embroidered memory game and some more photos of me as a kid. :)

Dziękuję za odwiedziny na moim blogu. Będę do cIEBIE CZĘSTO ZAGLĄDAĆ. wSZYSTKIEGO DOBREGO.bUZIACZKI.
Eleanor the Bar is so cute!! These are adorable! And I was the laughing stock of my kindergarten class because my mom made my cabbage patch doll, she didn't buy it like other kids' moms bought theirs. She ruined me socially at age 5. By the way, I still have my yellow Popple because I just can't bring myself to get rid of it!
Oh my goodness! You are adorable!
I had a wee lil' bear growin' up named Pink Teddy. He was the only present I got for my first Christmas (my parents figured I didn't know the difference if I got gifts or not).
Hop hop little bear.
Hop hop on my chair.
Was just readin' Winnie-ther-Pooh last night. This kinda reminds me of that.
We must have been born the same year because we have all the same childhood toys! No body messed with my Cabbage patch! LOVE this post! You were an adorable kiddo!
Aww, look at you with your dolls... so cute! I, too, had Cabbage Patch Kids. Also: Carebears, Pound Puppies, Rainbow Brite, Barbies, and an American Girl doll ("Samantha"); she was my favorite. xo.
He put casts on them? How adorable! I loved my stuffed radish. Weird, I know.
Magi, pink teddy is such a cute name!! :)
Anna, I was born in '81. What about you?
I had the same Rainbow Brite doll!! I loved Rainbow Brite so much.
Those stuffed animals are so adorable, love the fox!

How cute! The doll kinda looks like you! :D
I swear, growing up stuffed animals were my best friends.
Those pictures are TOO CUTE! Avery has been dragging around my old cabbage patch kid all week. She has a gazillion dolls and stuffed animals, but won't go anywhere without this old cabbage patch kid from the 80's. Oh well! : )
your photos are adorable!!!
You are so cute with your cabbage patch doll! I loved mine.
I had the same cabbage patch kids! And I loved them. And I am jealous at all the cuuuuute ones for kids these days!
I didn't have stuffed toys. I was raised my two Aunts and they didn't believe in those niceties ;).
I received my first doll when I was already 10 when parents returned from abroad and brought it for me. And it was weird to be able to play and not knowing what I was suposed to do.
Now I compensate and even my kids look in suspition when I drool over toys and dolls and stuffed animals ahahahahah
Happy and Sweet Holidays Melissa.
Cute! I loved those as well! Remember Teddy Ruxpin? He was one fo my favs too :)
Melissa, you were a cute little kid! The stuffed animals are adorable. Great choice, as always.
PS- My favorite was a sad teddy bear (literally had a sad face with tears). I felt bad for it and took it everywhere with me in hopes of cheering it up.
I had all the Rainbow Brite characters, including Murky. I had the Beirnstein Bears dolls. A ton of Barbies and Cabbage Patch dolls.
However, my favorite favorite favorite toy from my childhood was a stuffed bear my dad bought me named Jamie. I still have him to this day, and he still stays on my bed.
I was born in -83 and I had Popples too! I just lost mine in a parking area and it was awful day.
two of my favorite stuffed animals actually werenmy dad's growing up too. their names are woof-woof and dog-dog (as name by him as a kid!) and we still have them. another was quack-quack who i still have and gave to my sister when she was born. you can tell my family is great at names!
YOu and your cabbage patch are adorable! I might have been a child of the 90's, but I still played with my cabbage patch doll. Mom didn't care if I messed up her hair because it came out easy.
I wasn't one to carry toys around everywhere, but my sister sure did. My Aunt April always tells that Audra wouldn't leave the house without her "hams" being full. "Okay I got my buzz I got my woody!"
Awww, those are adorable!
I think I had the same cabbage patch doll as you, but mine had a yellow dress. You are so right that they were a requirement of the 80`s cause at first I did not like them, but then with all the hype I eventually wanted one. Never had a popple though, gave a pink and purple one as a bday gift and wanted to keep her for myself. Lucky you. Wonder if you had a monchichi?
