Paris versus New York

Parisian graphic designer Vahram Muratyan's online series comparing his two favorite cities, Paris and New York, has long made the blog rounds. Well today, he releases Paris versus New York: A Tally of Two Cities, featuring 105 of his creative illustrations, including never-before-seen ones! I love Muratyan's knack for making everyone's beloved cities come alive on the page in such clever ways, with illustrations covering pop culture, food, even iconic landmarks. Here are a few of my favorites...
He describes his work as "a friendly visual match between two cities told by a lover of Paris wandering through New York. Details, clichés, contradictions: This way, please."

How awesome is that? Anyone feel like taking a little trip? Have you been to the City of Lights or the Big Apple, friends? Which one do you prefer, or is it impossible to choose? xoxo

I used to live near NYC, but never took advantage of being so close and rarely went to the city. I've never been to Paris, though. I always envisioned myself loving Paris.

What a comical work of art, really cute! I find it even more comical that the French say expresso when they really mean to say espresso (if not, ask Italians!)

I love NY. Since I was about 17 years old and a teacher took the class on a walking tour of the city, I've been in love with it and try to travel there as many times as I can.

Been to both and love both! NY and Paris both (sadly) have reputations of being unfriendly but I've always had the opposite experience with both!

I've been to NYC a number of times, but I haven't been to Paris. I would definitely love to one day though.

Ah, even though I've only been to Paris once for a week but have been to NY more than I can count, (lived in North Jersey for 12 years), I would have to say Paris. The food, the sights, the accents, it was AMAZING. Idk if my views would change after living there for a while or visiting often but I think it takes the win for now. I do, however, really love the NYC street food-esp gyros.
