The disappearing artist

Have you seen Cecilia Paredes' awesome take on the self-portrait? The Peruvian artist absorbs herself in her work (literally!) by painting herself into flower-pattern wallpaper in her new series Landscapes. She leaves her head unpainted, which is usually the only clue that there's a person amidst those colorful flowers. "I wrap, cover or paint my body with the same pattern of the material and 're-present' myself as part of the landscape," she says. "The illusion of 'disappearing' into the landscape that surrounds me is very exciting."

How genius is that, friends? xoxo
