The Pothole Gardener

What a beautiful and creative way to brighten up a city: As part of a university course, Steve Wheen started The Pothole Gardener, a project that has since flowered (pun intended!) into a blog documenting his gardening efforts around East London. The gardens are "part art project, part labour of love, part experiment -- the pictures and gardens are supposed to put smiles on people's faces and alert them to potholes," says Wheen. I love how he uses little props, like tennis rackets, a bike and an English telephone booth, don't you? xoxo

P.S. A new Love Lounge is coming your way shortly! :)

I think this is just lovely. What a wonderful way to take something unconventional and/or ugly and turn it into something so charming.
