Meet Valentina Guerrero. She was just your average 10-month old from Miami until last month, when she made her debut on the runway as the new face of DC Kids, the children's swimwear line from Spanish fashion designer Dolores Cotrés. She'll even appear on the cover of the designer's U.S. catalogue as part of its 2013 collection. Oh, and Guerrero also happens to have Down syndrome and is considered the first child model with Down syndrome to land a campaign with a major fashion designer.
As Valentina's mother, Ceceliz, told the Down Syndrome Association of Miami, the ad campaign sends a very clear message: "All children deserve the same opportunities, regardless of their physical, economic, social, racial or medical condition."
Adds Cortés: "People with Down syndrome are just as beautiful and deserve the same opportunities,”
Such an inspiring story, don't you think, friends? Bravo! xoxo
