Would You Rather: Throw your wedding bouquet or keep it?

Here's an interesting wedding tidbit for your Thursday: Apparently, throwing the bouquet isn't as popular as it once was. Some think it's a silly, superstitious tradition that is just awkward -- and potentially dangerous for those overzealous single ladies.

Would you rather throw your bouquet or keep it? Or maybe have a different tradition altogether? If you're married, did you toss your bouquet? Was there a mad dash among your female guests to catch it? xoxo

P.S. Am I the only one who thinks there should be a similar tradition for the groom and single men at weddings?

P.P.S. More pretty wedding bouquets.

  5. My best friend was so upset that she was required to throw her bouquet... so I offered her my Maid of Honor one instead. Incidentally, I caught it! :P

And yeah, the groom throws the bride's garter to the single men. And then the garter catcher and the bouquet catcher do a silly ritual and they are supposedly the next to marry. Rarely works out that way though!

  6. I had a fake bouquet to throw at my wedding, and I kept my real one. It was silly, but at the same time we got a good giggle over it.

  7. I still have mine. I went with fake flowers--GASP! My grandmother arranged it. :)

  10. You're actually supposed to throw your maid of honor's bouquet. And yes, the groom throws the bride's garter and the bouquet catcher and garter catcher are supposed to be introduced and/or dance in hopes that they'll hit it off and maybe get married. Never heard that happen though, lol.

  12. I didn't throw my bouquet. I always thought the tradition was pretty humiliating for all the single ladies (I knew this from experience).

Also, speaking of danger. I was once body checked in a crowd of girls trying to get the bouquet. I had reluctantly caught it but apparently the other girl really wanted it.

  13. I didn't throw mine but that was because it was so heavy. If it'd someone on the head it would have knocked them out!

  14. I can’t help but smile while reading the title. :] I actually asked this to my fiancée and I find her answer cute. She said she would have two wedding bouquets made for our wedding – one for the ceremony and another for the traditional wedding bouquet toss. -->Willis
