You all know I've always been a huge fan of bright, bold colors -- you know, the kind that just make you smile when you see them. And to me, nothing says summer quite like those bright colors. Something tells me Hilary would agree with me. She's the creative brain behind My Crafted Life, her Indiana-based Etsy shop full of gorgeous prints, like mixed media prints, personalized prints, matted prints and mini prints. "I believe that dreams are real and possible," she says, and I couldn't agree more. Read on for more of Hilary's inspirations, her decorating tips and her favorite piece in her shop! xoxo

My Crafted Life. What's the inspiration behind its launch?
My Crafted Life has been a dream of mine for a long time. I have always loved painting and had the dream of being an artist tucked deep in my heart my whole life. I was stuck in a job I hated, and eventually, the pain of being miserable outweighed my fear of the unknown. Last June, I slowly started taking steps toward my dream and finally quit my job in March of this year to pursue art full time. I hope that my art inspires others to follow their dreams too.
Your shop features so many inspiring finds. What inspires you the most?
Color, words, memories, nature and music are some of my biggest inspirations. Inspiration is everywhere! I became aware of this last year as I was working in a very uninspiring job. The more I painted, I began to see life differently. I noticed beautiful colors in mundane objects and beauty in everyday moments.
What are your top 3 tips for shopping online and finding great deals?
1). Follow your favorite shops on social media sites like Facebook and Instagram. Often times, Etsy shop owners will announce deals on social media that are not posted elsewhere.
2). Sign up for e-mail notifications from your favorite stores. I get emails telling me of deals, coupon codes and special sales. It's worth it to sign up!
3). Use coupons! Most stores, like Michaels, always have coupons on their Web site that can be used in store and online. Look on a store's Web site for coupons -- a lot of the time, they are available.
What are some little decorating tips that people can use to incorporate more art into their home decor?
If you already have a lot of art filling your wall space, consider framing pieces and displaying them on a end table, dresser or bookshelf. It adds a pop of inspiration, beauty and color to a usable piece of furniture that might otherwise only be filled with practical things.
Autumn is my favorite piece. It was the first mixed media painting I did, and completing it felt like a huge breakthrough. I spent so much time on it, and it holds so much of my heart.
