I was 10 and he was 11, and we met at church. It was the first (and only) time I have had an instant reaction to somebody. He walked in the room and my palms got sweaty, I couldn't breathe, I felt physically ill. And I continued to feel this way every time I saw him for the next 4 years. And then his family emigrated to New Zealand and I never saw him again. I 'stalked' him on Myspace a few years ago (when Myspace was cool) and sent him a message - he didn't even remember me. I felt so foolish - 4 years of him being my everything and spending the subsequent years holding a torch that maybe he was my soulmate and we would be together again one day - all gone. But, it was the best kind of closure.

On the whole, I think first loves are important and can set the tone for how you approach future relationships. They are good to look back on because they are sweet and innocent. Until Mary Kay DeLeo moved in next door to him and stole him away.

(It's been 30 plus years and I still don't like her.)mehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14457900572853874272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8773709208108297978.post-9825781997449815142013-08-06T15:59:52.880-05:002013-08-06T15:59:52.880-05:00My first love was a boy in my 5th grade English cl...My first love was a boy in my 5th grade English class–he was also a costar in a number of middle school musicals and eventually the older brother of one of my best friends. He was the first boy I ever kissed, and eventually he went to jail for armed robbery.

What can I say? 11 year old me couldn't see the future!A Crimson Kisshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00474778213617208638noreply@blogger.com
