The strongest factor for me...I kept my maiden name. The strongest factor for me was that I wanted to keep the name I had when I was first building my career and getting my MA, but I actually don't think I ever thought about changing my name. My mom took my dad's name so there was no reason for me to find it strange, but even as a little kid I think I just thought it sounded weird to change your name when you got married so I never really daydreamed or thought much about being a "Mrs." My husband's mom kept her name so I don't think he gave it much thought either. When I told him I wanted to keep my name he was just like "sure" and I think was a little surprised I bothered to tell him! ~ LauraAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8773709208108297978.post-44107796272923774762015-07-01T22:27:59.629-05:002015-07-01T22:27:59.629-05:00Rambling, it's actually Shakespeare??? Although as my dad only has daughters I might just keep mine and carry my family with me. My mom kept her maiden name, and I have her last name, so maybe if I keep mine and give it to my daughters I can start a matrilineal naming tradition.Rowanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10765746256119914968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8773709208108297978.post-19679151175207544742015-06-29T19:25:56.506-05:002015-06-29T19:25:56.506-05:00I had been at my job for over 10 yrs when I marrie...I had been at my job for over 10 yrs when I married and I kept my maiden name and added my husband's last name so I have two last names but no hyphen.Suburban prephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18395691728192716148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8773709208108297978.post-40211914175247039722015-06-29T19:25:31.726-05:002015-06-29T19:25:31.726-05:00This is going to sound super wolfish, but I'm ...This is going to sound super wolfish, but I'm the last of my line.
