Chop up raw garlic and put in a spoon with a drizzle of honey, chew and swallow QUICKLY. The very next day my energy was back. The cold still took a while to shake but the worst parts were gone quickly with the garlic before bed :)Ashley Blomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08716339905719797513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8773709208108297978.post-75532456940832865252012-12-21T12:06:18.673-06:002012-12-21T12:06:18.673-06:00So sorry you're still sick, Melissa. If you want something cold to soothe your throat..make a smoothie with frozen fruit and orange juice. Any time I ever took my kids to the doctor when they were sick...the first thing they ALWAYS said was........NO DAIRY! It only clogs your system and won't help to flush out your system effectively. Tea, clear broth, hot lemon water and fruit juices are what you need. Candy canes?? I'd opt for sugar-free throat lozenges--you don't need all that syrupy-sugar and empty calories. I know your mother's intentions were good, but it most likely made your situation that much worse. worse. I also have chicken noodle soup. I also take Zinc. I try and stay away from dairy as that adds to the stuff settling in your throat and in your sinus. make sure you have a humidifier going as well. (I know it is raining here in the Mid West but that is outside). Sleep is important too. Another thing perhaps is Oscillococcinum (the naturalistic way to help with colds and flu). It can be found at walgreens or CVS .Suburban prephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18395691728192716148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8773709208108297978.post-50112228765210318102012-12-20T19:16:20.246-06:002012-12-20T19:16:20.246-06:00Vicks makes me feel better all the time. It opens my sinuses up like a freeway, and the hot broth soothes my sore throat.
